A dining landmark, Wintzell's Oyster House was founded in 1938 as a six-stool oyster bar by J. Oliver Wintzell and is best known for its "oysters—fried, stewed or nude." Don't like 'em raw? While oysters headline the iconic brand, Wintzell's menu comprises fresh Gulf seafood dishes as well as regional favorites, including award-winning seafood gumbo, homemade bread pudding and two specialties native to Mobile: West Indies salad and fried crab claws.
