Lomonte's owner Barbie Lomonte left her St. Louis home over 25 years ago bringing with her a passion for traditional Italian fare, something Houston sorely needed. Barbie opened Lomonte's in 1986 and the intimate atmosphere continues to provide one of the most romantic settings in town. Barbies friendliness and hospitality are reminiscent of a family kitchen, where everyone is a friend. The extensive menu is modest, featuring home-cooked Italian delights accompanied by "to-die-for" sauces.
